This Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce and the New York Road Runners event gathered runners honoring Percy E. Sutton, who was pivotal in the revitalization of HARLEM and was instrumental in the expansion of the New York City Marathon.
The core objective of the annual Percy E. Sutton Harlem 5K Run & Children’s Run was to celebrate and promote the rich history, culture, health, and wellness of the Harlem community while honoring the civil rights and economic legacy of Percy E. Sutton through a premier, high-engagement athletic event organized in partnership with the New York Road Runners.
