Welcome To HARLEM WEEK 2019

What originally started as a one-day tribute to one of the most culturally rich neighborhoods in the world has now become a month-long celebration enjoying its 45th year. HARLEM WEEK runs from July 28 to August 31. With over 100 events, its celebrates the history and brilliance of all that is Harlem.

This year’s theme is Our Local History Creates a Global Impact, because no neighborhood has impacted the world like Harlem. From the music and literature of the Harlem Renaissance to the activism of the 1960s to its recent resurgence as a culinary mecca, one thing is clear — what is created in Harlem echoes throughout the world.

For its 45 year, HARLEM WEEK is celebrating 45 icons — artist, activists, and institutions — that truly embody the Harlem spirit. See icons below.

HARLEM WEEK is one of the biggest cultural celebrations in the nation with over 111 events featuring conferences, seminars, sports, music, food, dance, and more.
