If the heartbeat of HARLEM WEEK is strong and
vibrant, it’s because it has a long tradition of making urban health
issues, awareness, disparities and concerns a priority. Each year,
Hospitals, Health Service Providers, Pharmaceutical Companies,
Insurance Providers and Sponsors that value the health of New Yorkers
partner with HARLEM WEEK to improve the well-being of all New Yorkers
through our New York City Health Fair & Expo.
The two-day outdoor affair takes place on
Saturday, August 14th and Sunday August16th with participants provided
education, free services and access to quality and affordable health
care. Teams of health care experts conduct free tests and screenings
to detect and treat disorders such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity,
stroke, heart disease, asthma and many more. The expo also includes
demonstrations and onsite advice from a variety of health
professionals. The Health Fair & Expo provides sponsors with numerous
opportunities to demonstrate genuine concern and total commitment to
the communities of New York as well as a chance to obtain valuable
information and data through the use of questionnaires, surveys, etc.
Hospitals for the Day include Columbia Medical
Center; Harlem Hospital, Mt. Sinai Hospital; North General Hospital
and Ralph Lauren Cancer Care & Prevention Center, with more to be
added.
